    Location/Department: Bristol Corps (Bristol, CT)

    Status:  Non-Exempt, Part-Time

    Hours Per Week: 20, Monday – Friday, 9:30 am – 1:30 pm

     

    Scope & Purpose of Position:
    Will oversee the preparation and serving of meals at the Bristol Corps’ Soup Kitchen and management of its volunteers.

    Responsibilities

    • Plan and prepare well balanced meals daily, ensuring appropriate and adequate servings are available for all
    • Prepare weekly menu and submit to supervisor.
    • Serve meals at the designated time in a manner that shows cleanliness and
    • Use and maintain Connecticut Health/Food Safety requirements for cleanliness and sanitation in all food service
    • Submit food order/supply requests to Corps Officer, weekly as needed.
    • Create and track inventory of current foods/supplies.
    • Provide meal/client stats to Director of Social Services and Corps Officer as requested.
    • Supervise volunteers involved in food preparation and service, including Dining Room volunteers daily.
    • Complete necessary statistical paperwork:
      • Copy of all invoices
      • Temperature control sheets
      • Daily volunteer/community service sign-in sheets
      • Client sign-in sheets
      • Foodshare Stats
    • Maintain communication with the Corps Officer(s).
    • Make sure all stations, including Kitchen and Dining Room, are left in a clean and acceptable manner, all lights are shut off, refrigerators and freezers are closed completely, and all doors are locked and
    • Oversee bread program distribution and delegate responsibilities appropriately.
    • Work with officers to develop a volunteer system and oversee the daily operation.
    • Assist officers with pick-up of products if needed.
    • Assist officers in other areas of Soup Kitchen, as needed.

    Qualifications

    • High-school diploma and two years of cooking experience required
    • Have or be willing to achieve a QFO (Qualified Food Operator License), along with Servsafe certification.
    • Supervisory experience preferred
    • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
