    STATUS:                            Non-Exempt

    SCHEDULE:                      Monday-Thursday, 9:00-4:00 p.m.

    FUNCTION:                       This position is designed to support the operations of the Lancaster Corps and Samaritan Center for Adult Day Services in the area of financial information processing.  This individual is responsible for the support of the fiscal operations of The Salvation Army in Lancaster.

    Responsibilities

    1. Prepare accounts payable and receivable functions for The Salvation Army
    2. Prepare and deposit income received
    3. Prepare and submit monthly billing to contracted vendors and individuals for The Samaritan Center for Adult Day Services
    4. Data entry and processing through the Shelby accounting system
    5. Prepare financial information for external and internal audits
    6. Submit weekly and monthly reports to Corps Commanding Officer and DHQ
    7. Assist in preparation of budgets for operation
    8. Prepare and process payroll for operation
    9. Assist in processing seasonal payroll paperwork for annual Christmas campaign
    10. Assist in the counting and depositing of funds received from the annual Red Kettle Campaign
    11. Attend monthly Advisory Board meetings and finance committee meetings, making monthly report to Board if Treasurer not present
    12. Work with external vendors for purchasing as requested by Commanding Officers and or Samaritan Center Director
    13. Enter monthly vehicle mileage reports
    14. Maintain accurate and detailed financial files
    15. Assist with clerical work as needed for Corps Commanding Officers
    16. Any other requests as needed by the Corps Commanding Officers

    Qualifications

    1. Two or more years in bookkeeping and office management
    2. Formal academic training in bookkeeping and or accounting (Associates degree or above preferred)
    3. Dependable
    4. Able to maintain confidentiality of Salvation Army information both inside and outside of the office
    5. Experience in working with the Microsoft Office suite, specifically in Excel
    6. Knowledge of computerized accounting software and basic accounting functions
    7. Excellent oral and written communication skills
    8. Detail-oriented
    9. Must complete and pass The Salvation Army’s Statement for Working with Children
    10. Must pass background check
    11. Ability to work with limited supervision to complete tasks in a timely and orderly fashion
