  • Overview

    Provide Accounting support for Trust & Investment Financial Record Keeping.

    Responsibilities

     

    • Liaison with Legal Department, CRD and Command Finance Departments
    • Prepare deposits for G/L entry and distribution of support documentation to Legal Dept. for BOT allocation.
    • Record daily activities on all Trust checking accounts, including deposits, incoming ACH transactions, and Wire Transfers.
    • Review, analyze and reconcile Legacy activity, identify and address issues within the Ledger and prepare appropriate JE.
    • Prepare Third Party Trust, donation, and other Estate related releases to the field.
    • Serve as back up for daily Cash Management Accountant.
    • Complete bank reconciliation for Trust operating, Pension, Property Casualty, and Employee Health payroll accounts.
    • Approve & post Accounts Payable Batches.Back up for journal entry approval & posting functions.
    • Initiate and prepare void checks for entry into the Trust Accounting System.
    • Review Accounts Payable report released to Commands, and address identified issues.
    • Provide bank statements and reports as requested.
    • Review and analyze computer generated Trust Fund reports, work with Trust staff to address and resolve issues.
    • Special projects as requested by Supervisor and Key Departmental Leadership.

     

    Annual Responsibilities:

     

    • Assist in collecting data for the preparation of Financial Statements, including THQ revenue and Legacy samples.
    • Assist Consolidation Coordinator in gathering and preparing sample testing from the field for fiscal year audit.
    • Assist in Preparation of schedules for Interim and Year End Financial Statements.
    • Communicate with commands year end for Accounts Receivable cash in transition preparation.

    Qualifications

    • Associate's degree and two years of related experience.
    • Self motivated
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software (Excel, Word, etc), Accounting Software
    • Ability to work in a multi-tasking, team spirit office environment.
    • Have an understanding of the standards of GAAP & FASB, proficiency in TSA computerized Accounting system.
