Position: Seasonal Program Aides – 7 needed
Location: The Salvation Army, Philadelphia Temple Corps; 1340 Brown Street, Philadelphia, PA
Availability: Seasonal Program runs June 25, 2018 – August 22, 2018
Schedule: Part-time 20 hours per week; Monday – Friday, 2 shifts available 9 AM - 1 PM and 12 Noon – 4 PM
Reports to: Learning Zone Director
Salary: $8.25 per hour, 70 Non-Exempt
To provide educational support to the summer camp programs of the Philadelphia Temple Corps Learning Zone.
Assist staff and director with program implementation as necessary. Maintains and monitors program supply inventory. Maintains sign-in and out sheets for children and adult programs. Photocopies and collates handouts and printed resources when needed. Travels from program to DHQ for mail to deliver information and reports. Distributes written correspondence to staff and parents. Maintains food count and weekly reports for food suppliers. Assists in the distribution of food to Learning Zone program participants. Answers telephone and door via intercom system when needed. Attends staff meetings and professional development trainings when scheduled.
High school diploma; college preferred. Desire to work in an educational setting with children and/or adults. Friendly demeanor with the ability to interact well with children, families and staff. Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check. Candidate must also complete the mandated reporter child abuse training. Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
