    Status:  Part-time, Temporary, Non-Exempt

    Hours Per Week:  25

    Schedule: 9:00 am - 2:00 pm, Mon-Fri


    Scope & Purpose of Position:

    Responsible for various aspects of the planning and implementation of the “SUMMER FUN” program under the supervision of the Corps Officers.

    • Coordinate with local Corps Officers to ensure that the program meets The Salvation Army mission and activity schedule.

    • Promote the program in schools and the community.

    • Plan weekly calendar of activities and ensure that these activities are being carried out.
    • Monitor children participation.
    • Maintain and monitor snack/meals for participants.
    • Connect and develop positive relationships with parents.
    • Maintain accurate records concerning attendance and other information.
    • Provide weekly attendance records for The Salvation Army statistical report.
    • Maintain a safe and healthy environment that supports holistic learning.
    • Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism in all situations and with everyone.
    • Attend required in-service training, including KeepSAfe (Divisional training).

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    The above duties and responsibilities are not all inclusive and may be modified to include other job related duties at the discretion of the supervisor.


    • Associate’s degree from a two-year college or technical school required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
    • Three to five years of experience working with children in an educational setting such as a school, day care center, or after school program required.
    • Must be organized and have great attention to detail.
    • Must be able to work well with others and support the mission of The Salvation Army.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license and be eligible to drive under The Salvation Army’s insurance policy.
    • Ability to drive in all weather and visibility conditions, as needed.

    • Must be willing to work additional hours as required.

    • Program planning experience preferred.

    • Ability to maintain confidentiality is required.
    • Will respect and promote the interest of The Salvation Army. The individual is not required to embrace the tenets of faith, but he/she is required to promote and respect the mission of The Salvation Army.
