Position: Program Aide
Department: The Salvation Army Philadelphia Pioneer Corps, 1920 Allegheny Avenue.
Availability of Position: Immediate Seasonal Summer
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9 AM – 3 PM Full-Time Summer Position; Part-Time 15 hours during the school year
Reporting Relationship: Program Director
Salary and Grade: $8.99 per hour; 70 non-exempt
Overview: The purpose of the program aide is to provide assistance to the teachers and the coordinator/director. The aide will assist with meals, rotation of children throughout all programs, escort children to various activities and trips, facilitate completion of academic work, oversee materials and enrichment activities, ensure that the facility is clean and prepared for the next day, and completes other assignments as required.
High school diploma; college preferred. Desire to work in an educational setting with children and/or adults. Friendly demeanor with the ability to interact well with children, families and staff. Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check. Candidate must also complete the mandated reporter child abuse training. Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
