Position: Visit Coach
Department: Children’s Services - Foster Care Program – Allentown Office
Availability of Position: Immediately
Schedule: Part-Time; up to 20 hours per week primarily Monday to Friday, evening and weekend hours.
Reporting Relationship: Reports to Director of Placement Services
Salary and Grade: $20-$22 per hour; 78 Non-Exempt
Oversee family visitation with biological families of foster children. Develop assessments with biological families based on the needs of their children and Strength/Needs-based Plans. Advocate for and support the parents in working towards the goal of family reunification. Perform related duties as assigned.
Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field plus a minimum of three years in child welfare or similar setting OR Bachelor’s Degree required plus a minimum of five years of work experience in child welfare or similar setting. Strong communication and writing skills and ability to interface with diverse populations and engage with parents and demonstrate strength based parenting skills. Solid understanding of child development recommended. Bi-lingual English/Spanish candidates preferred. A Pennsylvania driver’s license, safe driving record, insurance and reliable automobile is required. Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check. Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army. Flexibility in scheduling work hours is necessary.
