    Position:   Resource Family Worker                                                                 

    Department: Children’s Services, Allentown PA

    Availability of Position: Immediately

    Schedule: Part-Time; 20-29 hours per week Monday to Friday; some evenings and Saturdays required.

    Reporting Relationship: Reports to Placement Services Director

    Salary and Grade: $20-22 per hour; 78 Non-Exempt

    General duties include providing case aide and casework services including but not limited to coordination of support services for foster children, foster families and birth families. Schedule and supervise family visitation, coordinate and transport foster children to various appointments.  Attending court reviews, participating in service plan meetings and writing progress reports. Provide permanency services in accordance with the Statewide Adoption Network.  Performs related duties as assigned.


    • Masters in Social Work or related field or Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field and a minimum of three years experience working with children in Human Services field required, a safe driving record, valid driver’s license, a reliable automobile, and insurance are required.
    • Flexibility in scheduling work hours is necessary.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, engagement skills, advocacy skills, organization skills, computer skills and ability to work as a team member is critical. 
    • Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks:   PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check.
    • Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
