Position: Aquatics Program Supervisor
Location: The Salvation Army KROC Center (SAKC), Philadelphia, PA
Schedule: Full Time - Must be willing and able to work weekends and evenings as will be required in performance of duties or as requested to support the ongoing operations of the Kroc Center.
Reporting Relationship: Operations Ministry Director

Position Description: The Aquatics Program Supervisor (APS) is responsible for the successful operation of all programs offered through the aquatic center.
The Aquatics Program Supervisor (APS) is responsible for the successful operation of all programs offered through the aquatic center. This includes (but is not limited to) developing the Center’s swim lessons program, use of the pool areas by special groups, continuing education offerings (i.e. WSI certification), use of the facilities by SAKA, and class exercise offerings (in conjunction with the fitness department). The APS will work with the Aquatics Manager to maintain high standards of facility cleanliness and maintenance and assist in preparing the center for inspections and licensing of facilities. The APS will work with the Operations Director to establish program plans and financial goals and, with the entire aquatics team, will strive to meet these plans on an annual basis.
Bachelor’s of Science in Physical Education, Sports and/or Recreation Management, or related field 3-5 years experience managing an aquatics facility, with associated program development experience. Willingness and understanding of the need to work nontraditional hours in support of the programs/services offered. Able to work with all ethnic and socio-economic populations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent management and leadership skills. Current Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and WSI certifications. Must complete PA State Mandatory Reporter Course. As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check. Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
