  • Overview

    Perform the duties of The Zone Adventure Camp Program Addistant from 6/4/2018 through 7/27/2018. Render ministerial, outreach and administrative services a “The Zone” Adventure Camp Counselor is to the engage the East Cleveland Community, recognizing their spiritual, emotional, physical, and social needs – making full use of the Corps and community resources under the direction of the Corps Officers as part of the East Cleveland Corps Ministry Team.  Also your function is to assist the Corps Officers with the day to day operations of the corps and to support and maintain the policies, procedures and overall well-being of the ministry, within the vision and goals of The Salvation Army, its Officers and the Corps.

     

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Zone Adventure Camp Program Assitant

    • Assist with children throughout the camp day
    • Assist with recreational programs
    • Assist with structured and unstructured physical activities
    • Assist with art activities
    • Actively supervise children on field trips and swimming activities
    • Actively supervise and engage children in the gymnasium, classrooms and throughout the facility
    • Supervise children of other groups when called upon
    • Attend required in-service training and staff meetings
    • Maintain and monitor attendance records
    • Participate in physical activities with children including, but not limited to, swimming, hiking (1-3 miles) and team sports
    • Other duties as deemed necessary by the Learning Center Director

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

     

    • High School Diploma
    • Experience working with children in a children care setting or recreational programs is a must
    • One year of college in an education program and/or related field of study

     

     

     

    SPECIAL SKILLS, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS.

     

    • Must have valid Ohio Driver’s License and be able to drive for the Salvation Army
    • Ability to pass an FBI and BCII Background Check
    • Certificates in First Aid, Communicable Disease and Child Abuse a plus
    • Experience in Visual or Performing Arts is a plus
