    Position: Family Services Administrator       

    Department: Department of Social Services, West Chester Corps           

    Availability of Position: Immediately         

    Schedule:  Full time; Monday to Friday; 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

    Reporting Relationship: Directly: Manager of Operations; Indirectly: Commanding Officer          

    Salary Grade: 12 Exempt; Salary commensurate with experience

    Responsibilities

    Responsible for Social Services Department and functions of the programs to include:

     

    Provides direct services including: interviewing, identifying needs, verifying information, assessing needs and ability to assist, counseling as appropriate for personal & financial needs, referral to appropriate community resources and corps programs, performing accurate data entry and written documentation. Provides assistance as assigned with storage, packing and rotating of all perishable and non-perishable goods, checking shelf life of items, and storing items in a safe manner. Assists with storage and use of supplies, files, clothing and other items. Maintains professional liaison with other agency and community representatives. Follows agency policies and procedures, maintains updated book/file of personnel materials.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s in Social Work and minimum of three years’ experience in Social Work field. MSW preferred.
    • Child Abuse and National Criminal History Clearances.
    • Valid PA Driver’s License and be able to drive TSA vehicles.
    • Strong time-management skills
    • Ability to do program development and grant writing.
    • Strong supervising skills
    • Computer knowledgeable of programs: word, excel and  power point minimum
    • Strong organizational skills, be detail oriented, self-motivated, reliable and a team player.
    • Ability to use materials and finances resourcefully in a non-profit environment.
    • Ability to enforce The Salvation Army policies.
    • Ability to orient and work with program volunteers.
    • Must understand and maintain confidentiality for clients, parishioners, volunteers, staff and donors.
    • Should have empathy and a desire to give excellent customer service to all.
    • Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check.
    • Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
