  • Overview

    Plans, manages, organizes and controls the food service department for the Harbor Light Complex while working collaboratively with others to accomplish the mission and goals of the Harbor Light Complex.  Responsible for the adherence to all Federal, State and Local safety standards and regulations.  Accountable for adherence to budget plans and participates in developing the food service budget.


    • oversees the coordination of staffing, work assignments and supervision of staff.
    • Responsible for the food production and distribution of meals, snacks and bag lunches.
    • Responsible for the compliance with Food Service mandates set by government regulated funding for HLC.
    • Responsible for developing contingency plan for food services to use in an emergency.
    • Responsible for the oversight of the nutrition services.
    • Completes timely performance evaluations and documents staff training and discipline.
    • Perform other duties as requested by the Executive Director of HLC.


    • degree in hospitality management  or equivalent work experience in food service management.
    • servsafe certification
    • outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
    • exceptional leadership, organizational and problem solving skills.
    • must be able to routinely lift and carry boxes weighing 25 pounds or more.
    • must be able to use stairs, when necessary, in cases of evacuations, drills and during routine elevator maintenance.
