  • Overview

    The main functions of the Corps Administrative Assistant is to maintain and coordinate calendars, receive and process phone calls and other communications (i.e. emails), coordinate and manage projects as assigned, and file and organize records.



    • Answer telephones and transfer to appropriate staff member.
    • Meet and greet clients and visitors.
    • Create and modify documents using Microsoft Office applications – Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
    • Perform general clerical duties to include but not limited to: photocopying, faxing, mailing, filing, typing and taking minutes as requested.
    • Maintain hard copy and electronic filing system.
    • Oversee recruitment, hours, and volunteers.
    • Setup and coordinate meetings and conferences.
    • Attend meetings as requested and take minutes as needed.
    • Maintains and records donor information, and provide Thank You letters to all donors.
    • Maintains and updates regularly the Kroc Donor list, consisting of over 500 prospects for Capital and Operational gifts.
    • Assist in camp registration and transportation.
    • Finalize and copy Corps Sunday Holiness Program.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    • Must attend Corps Council and Soldier meetings.
    • Assist with Christmas Toy, Kettle, and Holiday campaigns; as needed.
    • Help and assist with Social Services Ministry.
    • Setup accommodation and entertainment arrangements for visitors.
    • Represent The Salvation Army’s spiritual and social mission.


    Education Requirements


         Associates degree preferred.


    Work Experience


         2 to 4 years of experience in office support and management; or academic equivalent.



    Other Qualifications

    • Have ability to work in an office with professional staff consisting of individuals with varying experience, competency and cultural backgrounds.
    • Must be organized and able to coordinate complex schedules, events, and communications.
    • Computer skills and competency with Microsoft Office Applications and/or appropriate desktop applications.
    • Must have the ability to work and relate well with people.
    • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
