Position: Driver                                                                                                                                                     

Department: Chambersburg, PA Corps

Availability of Position: Immediate                                                      

Schedule: Part-Time; 20-29 hours per week with flexible schedule  

Reporting Relationship: Corps Officers                                             

Salary and Grade: $10.55-13.20 per hour; 72 Non-Exempt

Position Overview: The Driver will be responsible for picking up donations within the community and assisting the Officer with the transportation of kids, during programs and summer camps. They will fill in for the janitor as needed.


*Responsible for picking up food donations and supplies as needed.

*Coordinating additional call-in donations.

*Coordinating with donors regarding office closures (due to weather, federal holidays, etc.)

*Picking-up and dropping of youth for Corps programs.

*Transporting kids to and from Camp Ladore for Corps Summer Camp.

*Ensuring Corps van is fully fueled and cleaned for use on weekends.

*Helping with order pick-ups during the regular work week.

*Helping with the drop-off and pick-up of kettle workers, during Christmas Time.

* Helping with the picking-up of toys and food during Christmas Time.


*High School Diploma, or equivalent.

*Valid PA Driver’s License with good driving record.

*At least 21 years of age with at least 2 years of driving experience, including vans

*As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every three years thereafter.  Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check.

*Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
