The Administrative Assistant for the Spiritual Life Development (SLD) Department is responsible for providing senior secretarial, general office functions and some ministry responsibilities with minimal supervision. This position reports to the Secretary for Spiritual Life Development.


Responsibilities include preparation of departmental correspondence as assigned, handling personal, confidential and important material, maintaining monthly itineraries for SLD staff, taking/maintenance/distribution of minutes for staff meetings and conference calls, answering phones, taking messages, receiving departmental visitors and email correspondence, timely and professional maintenance of departmental file system, coding & processing of vouchers as requested, management of office supplies and organizing resource closet, packing/unpacking of supplies for various SLD events, coordinating the Wednesday Chapel Service Schedule and the Pray Thursday meetings, helping with preparation and registration of all department events, attending and assisting during some departmental events, on and offsite in addition to regular office hours, as assigned.  All other duties as assigned.


Associates Degree and two years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess excellent English communication skills, both oral and written, ability to work independently and with initiative, ability to multi-task, and prioritize work, excellent organizational, office management and interpersonal skills, a positive, professional attitude, ability to work in a high-activity environment, strong customer service skills, ability to successfully operate with ambiguous guidelines.  Flexibility required. Must be willing to work occasional weekends and travel. Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of computers and advanced technical skills, including experience with Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, Powerpoint, and IBM Notes.
