Location/Department: Bridgeport Corps (Bridgeport, CT)

Status: Temporary, Non-exempt, Part-time

Hours Per Week: Maximum of 4 hours

Schedule: Hours will vary


Scope & Purpose of Position:

To provide child care during the Women’s Ministries programming.


Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

  • Supervise and monitor the safety of preschool and school age children.
  • Communicate with parents of the children.

  • Organize and implement age appropriate activities for the children.

  • Prepare and serve snacks for children and bottle feed infants, if needed.

  • Set up room for children.

  • Clean up after the program, including disinfection of toys and furniture.

  • Change diapers of infants and toddlers as needed.

  • Must have experience caring for children.

  • Good organizational skills is a priority.
  • Comfortable with children and enjoying working with them as well as their parents.

  • Ability to handle behavioral issues.
  • Valid CPR and First Aid certifications preferred.

  • Ability to pass background check required.

  • Caring and compassionate attitude a must.
  • Ability to work independently as well as with others.
  • Ability to lift and move 50 lbs

  • Valid drivers’ license, ability to drive a 12-passenger van and pass required Salvation Army driving test.
