Position: Day Camp Counselors (4 positions available)

Department: Levittown Corps         

Availability of Position: June 17, 2018-August 18, 2018    

Schedule:  Monday through Friday; 9am to 5pm; hours may vary as needed          

Reporting Relationship: Corps Officers, Childcare Coordinator    

Salary: $8.00 per hour           


Provide a safe, fun, and caring environment for children enrolled in the Summer Day Camp program. The Day Camp Counselors are responsible for leading the group of children in assigned activities and implanting discipline procedures. Work in a team environment and communicate with Childcare Coordinator daily regarding concerns/issues with the program, children, parents or co-worker. Assist in maintaining clean-up schedules to maintain cleanliness of the building including completion so task lists on daily clean-up list. Role model dignity and respect for others at all times.




  • 18 years of age and experience working with children.Be reliable and responsible.

  • As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of  employment with recurrent training required every three years thereafter. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check.
  • While an appreciation for, and understanding of, the philosophy and mission of The Salvation Army is required, being active Salvationist is a plus.
