The Salvation Army is hiring!


We are seeking two Co-Directors to develop and oversee the Summer Day Camp Program for Children in Lockport, NY.  


These positions are temporary full-time for the summer season, with a start date of June 11th and an end date of August 24th. 



  • Work with the Youth Ministries Coordinator to plan, organize, and direct all aspects of the Day Camp Program.
  • Recruit, monitor, and keep records of all children in the program.
  • Provide socialization, education, entertainment during program time.
  • Address behavioral concerns fairly and firmly with program participants together with Youth Ministries Coordinator; use pro-active strategies to encourage positive behavior.
  • Maintain safety of all program participants, volunteers, and staff at all times. 


  • Education Requirements include High School Diploma/Equivalent AND either:
    • Enrolled in Niagara County Community College or Niagara University for Fall of 2018, OR
    • Resident of Eastern Niagara County enrolled in another accedited college for the Fall of 2018
  • One year related experience working with children is required
  • Supervisory experience is preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work well with young children, in supervision and participation in physical activities, games, crafts, and educational opportunities.
  • Able to demonstrate patience and competence in high-stress situations
