Overview

Reports to:                  Shelter Supervisor

Job Status:                   Part Time

Classification:             Nonexempt

 

This position is responsible for preparing all means, cleaning, and keeping pantry stocked and organized.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve meals according to the established menu including packing lunches for the next day.
  • Clean up of the kitchen at the end of each day.  Clean dishes, wipe down surfaces, and place all things back in their place.
  • Organize, rotate stock and shop for shelter pantry needs.
  • Assist Emergency Shelter Aide that is on duty in maintaining a safe and secure shelter.
  • Shop for menu supplies.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all clients using the Emergency Home.
  • Refrain from becoming involved with personal problems of the clients.
  • Alert the Shelter Supervisor or Emergency Shelter Aide when clients are upset, distressed, agitated, or wanting help.
  • Contact the Emergency Shelter Aide and or the Shelter Supervisor when emergencies arise.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Cooking certificate and/or 5 years paid cooking experience.
  • Driver’s license and vehicle.
  • Basic cleaning skills.
