    This is a 143-bed facility located at 681 Clarkson Avenue, Building 8, Brooklyn, NY. The Senior House Manager is responsible for work schedule assignments for the

    House Manager. The essential functions of the job include, but are not limited, to the duties listed in the job description.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for Direct Supervision of House Manager.
    • Responsible for work schedule assignments, holidays.
    • Fill in schedule for sick time or vacation time.
    • Supervises and verifies satisfactory completion of all logbooks, intake forms, incident/accident/complaint reports.
    • Conduct necessary inspection of clients’ room as needed.
    • Provide ongoing training pertaining to House Managers.
    • Other managerial tasks as assigned by the Program Director.
    • Report to the Facility Manager on duty, or in their absence assumes charge of facility.
    • Supervises and provides on-going training of security personnel.
    • Advises administration of incidents/emergencies that develop.
    • Maintain an orderly and safe environment for all residents’, visitors, and employees.
    • Records and reports maintenance employees.
    • Manages the flow of all people entering and leaving premises.
    • Records and reports maintenance needs of the building, i.e.: work order request forms etc.
    • Coordinates with housekeeping personnel for bedding, linens and personal hygiene needs for clients.
    • Coordinates the distribution with housekeeping personnel of all equipment.
    • Coordinates the distribution of emergency food packages/supplies/etc for clients.
    • Attends all required staff meeting, supervisory sessions, and shift briefing from previous shift and succeeding shift.
    • Demonstrates reliability when on-call. Available to work overtime when necessary (Only non-Exempt employees).
    • Demonstrates the ability to recognize priorities in organization of workflow. Able to perform duties independently, with minimal need of direct supervision.
    • Maintain the confidentiality of clients, shelter/program, agency and or The Salvation Army
    • Demonstrates the ability to interact in a positive and helpful manner with clients, visitors, contract staff, volunteers and co-workers.
    • Reflects commitment to building a supportive work environment and maintains a positive attitude at the work place and towards job.
    • Projects a good image in dealing with the public and clients.
    • Is willing to make an extra effort to help build a quality and caring shelter/program

    Qualifications

    • Master Degree Preferred or Baccalaureate Degree in Human Services with previous experience in human service context with residents
    • Must have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), computer skills and ability to maintain composure during crisis, emergency situations and/or during behavioral outbursts.
    • Must be certified in CPR, First Aid, and have obtained the Fire Safety Coordinator’s License / F80
    • Must maintain proper boundaries and professional relationships with clients at all times.
