Position: Recreation Assistant II (RAII)

Location/Dept.:  Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center, RJKCCC, Philadelphia, PA

AvailabilityImmediate (2 positions available)

Schedule   Part Time - varying hours based on scheduled events, evenings and weekends required

Reporting Relationship: Fitness & Recreation Manager

Salary and Grade: $15 per hour; 75 Non-Exempt




The Recreation Assistant will assist in the development and implementation of traditional and non-traditional recreational activities, giving direct supervision to same as assigned in the recreation venues throughout the RJKCCC campus.




High School Diploma or equivalent, college degree a plus. Detail oriented. Ability to work with a diverse population, including various age ranges. Must be safety conscious. Must possess ability to provide excellent customer service. Must possess excellent program development skills. Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly in English. Must be able to handle difficult situations/confrontations in a professional manner. As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every three years thereafter. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check. Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission Statements of The Salvation Army and the RJKCCC.
