REPORTS TO: Fitness & Recreation Department Manager/Assistant
FUNCTION: The person in this position will fill a variety of program needs. The nature of the task and responsibilities will change to some degree based upon the program they are assisting in; but their character and attitude must always promote the Christian faith and be in keeping with the Mission of The Salvation Army.
To assist in the implementation and supervision of various programs taking place in conjunction with the Recreation Center. This could include monitoring the facilities, special events, classes, field trips and various programs, leagues, and tournaments.
Supervision: Helps supervise facilities and volunteers.
Display good character and be passionate about impacting other’s lives through the realm of Sports and Rec.
Display a good understanding of Sports.
Use excellent communication skills to work positively with different populations and build rapport with clients
Ensure that a safe and healthy environment exists for participants
Give the Fitness & Recreation Department Managers advanced notice if unable to be at scheduled shift
Will work evening and weekend hours.

Program Development: Assists in these areas
Assist in such programs as: Afterschool Program, Youth Basketball, Corps Programming, Leagues, tournaments, Family Gym Time, Open Gym Time, Etc.
Assists with any specialized recreation program in the department. Consistently update recreation management knowledge through workshops, certifications and seminars.
Camps: Assists in these areas
Assists with camps as needed throughout the year.
All other duties as deemed necessary and appropriate by the Fitness & Recreation Department Management Team.

6. If this person will be needed to drive as part of their responsibilities, then they will need to have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a Salvation Army 12 passenger driving test.
