Overview

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

 

Render ministerial, outreach and administrative services as the Receptionist - Evening to the East Cleveland Community, recognizing their spiritual, emotional, physical, and social needs – making full use of the Corps and community resources under the direction of the Corps Officers as part of the East Cleveland Corps Ministry Team.  Also your function is to assist the Corps Officers with the day to day operations of the corps and to support and maintain the policies, procedures and overall well-being of the ministry, within the vision and goals of The Salvation Army, its Officers and the Corps.

 

To support and maintain the smooth operation of the front office; serve as support staffing for the Corps Family Intake office, performing administrative functions for departments as needed.

 

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.  

 

  • Greet and receive all clients and visitors in a pleasant manner; arrange for their comfort and/or referral to proper staff and program areas.
  • Deal positively with outside vendors, clients and donors, serving as the “voice” of The Salvation Army in the local service area.
  • Answer telephones and forward calls to appropriate staff/voicemails
  • Keep your work area clean and tidy.  Report any unsafe conditions to your supervisor
  • Work cooperatively with Center Administrators (CO’s and Office Manager)
  • Monitor door cameras.
  • Do assigned tasks, such as filing, sorting and creation of publicity materials
  • Assist with administration of seasonal programs (Christmas/Kettles/Back-to-School/Summer Youth)
  • Perform administrative tasks for other departments as requested by the Center Administrators
  • Ensure proper intake and sign-in protocols for all programs.
  • Participate in and support the implementation of special activities and events for the Corps as requested by the Corps Officer.
  • Assist with administration of seasonal programs (Christmas, Kettles, Back-to-School, Summer Youth).
  • Assist with the registrations for all holiday activities, meals and toy programs.

 

 

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

 

High school diploma or G.E.D; Self-starter with the ability to troubleshoot, keep schedule and complete tasks. Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications; has working knowledge of office procedures/equipment.
