TITLE: Kettle Driver

AVAILABILITY of POSITION: Temporary/Seasonal; Beginning: 11/16/2017 Ending: 12/23/2017

DEPARTMENT: Corps, 101 E. Market Street, West Chester, PA

REPORTS TO: Commanding Officers

SALARY: $9.00 per hour                                         

SCHEDULE:  Part-Time; Thursday to Saturday; 10:00 am to 6:00pm (Flexible Hours)




The kettle driver is responsible for delivery and distribution of kettles promptly to our volunteers and employees. He or she will represent the Salvation Army in in a professional and cost-effective manner. Driver is responsible for daily distribution of kettle employees.



  • Oversees set-up, tears-down and stores kettle equipment as needed.
  • Collects kettles from multiple kettle sites and volunteers.
  • Collects proceeds as directed from kettle donors.
  • Informs Corps Officer of problems, issues and complaints during the kettle season.
  • Picks up and drop off kettle employees.
  • Makes kettle changes during the day from volunteers and employees.
  • Understands and embraces The Salvation Army’s Mission Statement with a full understanding of the purpose and direction of the role The Salvation Army plays within the community.



  • High school diploma/GED
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a driver.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Excellent Supervisory skills a plus.
  • Valid Driver’s License that meets The Salvation Army insurance requirements.
  • Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check.
  • Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of the Salvation Army.
