General Summary:

Will support the Kettle Campaign, which helps fulfill the needs of the hungry, homeless, ill, and lonely.

This position is seasonal from November 2017 - December 2017

Responsibilities

  • Ring bell or use other creative ways to captivate the attention of passing pedestrians
  • Smile and be courteous by saying "thank you" for every donation received. Nothing makes a donor feel better and encourages repeat contributions like a simple "THANK YOU".
  • Do not eat, drink, or smoke at the kettle.
  • Do not use profanity or other abusive language or gestures.
  • Dress appropriately for the weather and all employees should be clean and well-groomed.
  • Keep kettle stand area neat and free of clutter.
  • Know the address and phone number of your Corps in order to be prepared to share it with anyone who has questions about the work of The Salvation Army.
  • Never leave the kettle unattended or with an individual who has not been approved by your supervisor.
  • Do not make change from the kettle or remove anything from the kettle unless your supervisor is present.
  • Never take the kettle home.
  • If a situation arises that requires the attention of your supervisor, call him/her right away with no delays.
  • Arrive on time.
  • Accurately complete a time card each day.

Qualifications

  • Have an understanding of the goals and general mission of the organization and work towards its
  • Friendly and have a positive attitude.
  • Respect and promote the interest of The Salvation Army. The individual is not required to embrace the tenets of faith, but he/she is required to promote and respect the mission of The Salvation Army. 
  • Be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Be able to stand for long periods of time.
