    • Must be 21 years old (or older) and have valid driver’s license with a good driving record
    • Bilingual (English and Spanish) skills are a plus but not required
    • Must be able to work as part of a team
    • Must be able to work unsupervised  
    • Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
    • Must be able to communicate effectively in English
    • Must be flexible regarding hours
      1. Principal FunctionsAssist in the operation of various Corps and Social Ministries programs including driving official vehicles to transport goods and people of all age groups.
    • Duties and Responsibilities


    1. Pickup – drop off program participants for:
      1. Sunday services
      2. Wednesday Senior program
      3. Seasonal Camp programs.
    2. Assist program participants with getting into/out of vehicles as necessary.
    4. Ensure all persons riding in Salvation Army vehicles wear seatbelts properly.
    6. Maintain program participant contact lists
    8. Contact program participants to determine if transportation is needed


    1. Drive Salvation Army owned or rented vehicles to pick up food and other donations from
      1. The food bank
      2. Local grocery stores
      3. Other places as required
    2. Assist in loading/unloading items transported.


    1. Assist with seasonal driving needs (Red Kettle Campaign, Camp, etc.)


    1. Refuel vehicles as necessary


    1. Report all vehicle maintenance needs to Facilities Manager/Corps Officer


    1. Ensure vehicles are securely locked and that transported items or personal items owned by program participants are not left behind.


    1. Assist the Corps Officers and other staff/volunteers with the operation of various corps/social ministries program including:
      1. Donated food distribution
      2. Food Pantry
      3. Seniors Program
      4. Sunday Services
      5. VBS
      6. Kids Club
      7. Christmas Distribution
      8. Emergency Disaster Services


    1. Represent The Salvation Army’s spiritual and social mission in the community at large.


    1. Engage in Christian spiritual conversation with individuals in his/her sphere of influence if opportunity or need present themselves.


    1. Recognize spiritual need of persons which may require referral to The Salvation Army officer who is an ordained minister of religion.


    1. Perform other duties within the scope of the position
