Overview

The Salvation Army’s Pathway of Hope (POH) program is designed to be a high-impact case management approach that focuses on identifying the root causes keeping families from becoming self-sufficient. The program focuses on families with children in an effort to impact generational poverty.


The program has an outstanding opportunity for a Full-Time Pathway of Hope Coordinator. This individual will be responsible for providing overall coordination, oversight, and full implementation of the POH initiative.   The  POH Coordinator is the staff team leader for the Eastern Territory and supports  the  data collection  and  outcome  measurement  process  that  will  lead  to further  enhancement  of  The Salvation Army  social services and Pathway of Hope services to targeted groups.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • In consultation with the Territorial Social Ministries Secretary, serve as the Eastern Territory’s primary representative on issues related to Pathway of Hope through the clear communication of developments, needs and successes of the Pathway of Hope approach.
  • Serve as a primary source of knowledge and analysis of current trends, policies and strategic issues that impact Pathway of Hope.
  • Serve as an internal consultant and technical adviser to all levels regarding Pathway of Hope operations and mission impact.
  • Develop and deliver informative and persuasive presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the Assistant Territorial Social Ministries Director, Divisional Social Service Directors and POH Regional Coordinators to identify and lead appropriate new initiatives impacting Pathway of Hope.
  • Ensure relevance of POH approach to funders by keeping current on program funding resources, both public and private, and assist Divisional Social Services Directors in working with program directors, officers and other related individuals to secure financial support for the POH.
  • In consultation with Social Ministries administration, develop, plan and coordinate bi-monthly Regional Coordinator’s meetings and the Annual Regional Coordinator’s Refresher. Develop, plan and coordinate quarterly Territorial Pathway of Hope Steering Committee Meetings.
  • Initiate and lead Territorial Pathway of Hope team meetings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related area is required.  Master of Social Work degree is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of Social Service Program Administration at a leadership level including laws and regulations governing social services agencies. Experience administering a variety of social service programs.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of effective report and technical writing including documents for publication. Knowledge and understanding of quantitative analysis and capacity to communicate analytics in a manner that enhances understanding of program outcomes.
  • Knowledge of acceptable practices for soliciting, administering and managing private, foundation, corporate and government funds, a plus.
  • Experience in preparing and delivering oral presentations to a range of audiences, utilizing Power Point or other presentation technology.
  • Strong computer skills including Lotus Notes, Microsoft Office Suite, and related computer software.
