REPORTS TO: Education Technology Specialist
SUPERVISES: N/A
STATUS: Non-Exempt
SCHEDULE: Part-Time
FUNCTION: The Technology-Education Program Assistant will serve as part of the Kroc Center Education Department. They will function in a team environment and be a role model to both youth and adults. They will invest in lives by helping to develop a high level technology based, educational ministry. In conjunction, they will keep as a priority, the educational nurturing of each individual, child or adult that they work with; promoting the Christian faith and values in keeping with the Mission of The Salvation Army.

Responsibilities

General
 Providing a safe, welcoming learning environment
 Managing groups of students in a collaborative setting
 Encouraging participation of students of all ages
 Sharing technology skills with youth and adult participants
 Serving as an instructor during Educational Programs
Assist in Programs related to the Tech Café and Education Programming
 investigate/research new technologies and tools for teaching and learning & quickly learn new systems
 use creative & teaching skills combined with knowledge of various instructional technologies
 prepare programs for technology education and generate plans for hands-on learning opportunities
 monitor the equipment used in the TC, if in need of repair, updating software, maintenance, etc consult w/ the Education Technology Specialist concerning the best way to proceed
 strong computer skills as it relates to using technology to teach and instruct individuals

 sharing technology, video-ography, and Web-building skills with youth and adult participants
 experience teaching variety of ages
 genuine interest in helping others to learn basic computer and photography skills
 good communication skills and team collaboration skills
Assist Administration related to the Tech Café
 Supporting the Education Technology Specialist and the Literacy Specialist in meeting state
standards to ensure quality programs
 Meeting the goals set by the Director of Education to support our local schools
 All other duties as deemed necessary and appropriate by the Director of Education.

Qualifications

 Strong computer skills as it relates to using technology to teach and instruct individuals
 Experience teaching a variety of ages
 Genuine interest in helping others to learn basic computer and photography skills
 An enthusiasm for working with youth
 Good communication skills and team collaboration skills
