Overview

Position: Maintenance Porter 

Department: Ivy Residence II, 4051 Ford Road, Philadelphia, PA                         

Schedule: Part-Time 25 hours per week                        

Reporting Relationship: Maintenance Supervisor; Property Manager; Housing and Projects Coordinator  

Salary and Grade: $13 per hour; 73 Non-Exempt

 

Function:

The maintenance porter will be responsible for the overall cleanliness and condition of Ivy Residence II. This will include a daily routine cleaning schedule of all common areas, trash removal, inspection of units/property, painting, preventative maintenance, care and upkeep.

 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for meticulous upkeep of grounds, amenities, building exteriors and leasing office, parking lots and common areas.
  • Perform regular custodial duties around the property and maintain the common areas, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting and removing trash.
  • Assist in the preparation of make ready units, including removal of trash from vacant apartments prior to make-ready.
  • Assist Maintenance Supervisor/Property Manager and/or perform assigned maintenance tacks in a timely manner.
  • Report any maintenance concerns for repairs on available apartments, and/or common areas to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Qualifications

       

  • Must be able to keep information in a confidential and secure fashion.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be a self-starter who can work in an environment with multiple changing work priorities.
  • Good verbal and writing communication skills.
  • Willingness to perform all required tasks.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of work safety habits.
  • Must be able to meet the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check.
  • Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
