Overview

This position is a Seasonal Job - 3/4 days per week, 24 hours per week, 8:00AM to 2:00PM, and will work from Mid October to Mid January.  This position is located at 400N Lexington Avenue Pittsburgh, PA 15208.

 

The position supports the data entry and administrative functions for seasonal programs such as: Signing up Applications for Treasures for Children, the GE Gift Card Program, Adopt A Family, Christmas Day Hotel Dinners and Answering Phones.

Responsibilities

  1. Treasures for Children:  
    1. Interview clients for their information concerning their children and Treasures for Children and complete Treasures applications.
    2. Submit spreadsheet to Leah Cross, Treasures for Children Coordinator in a timely manner.       Enter all data from applications into system and maintain a timely, accurate spreadsheet of all Treasures information.
    3. Support and assist in the toy distribution with clerical help.

 

  1. GE Gift Cards:
    1. Enter data about Gift Card households into a spreadsheet.
    2. Create and publish coded mailing labels for Social Services
    3. Prepare envelopes for stuffing with gift cards:   Preparing and affixing labels in sequence, stuffing with Christmas letter.

 

  1. Additional Responsibilities:
    1. Answer Telephones
    2. Assist with entering Christmas Day Hotel Dinner data

Qualifications

  • Expert-level competence in data entry to accommodate extraordinary amounts of data under deadlines.
  • Must be able to create reports from spreadsheet data.
  • All three PA Clearances required upon employment and thereafter upon renewal date: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, Request for Criminal Record, and Fingerprint based federal criminal history.
  • PA Mandated and Permissive Reporting and The Salvation Army’s KeepSAfe training required.

 

Education and Experience:

 

  • Must have high school diploma or GED.
  • At least one year working in an office setting.
  • Must be skilled in Microsoft Office Suites.
