The Salvation Army Greater New York Division is involved in an array of services to the community throughout its over seventy centers in New York City and the surrounding counties. The Digital Media Section will serve to support the Development Department in providing materials that can be used in the procurement of funds to support The Salvation Army’s programming. The Digital Media Section will strive to spread brand awareness of The Salvation Army Greater New York Division through the use of the web and social media. Through communication with the various social services and ministry arms of The Salvation Army, the Digital Media Section will highlight stories and partnerships that will promote the image and mission of The Salvation Army with the ultimate goal of increasing donations through the efforts of digital fundraising, and through the utilization of created materials in the personal relationships that are formed between members of the development staff and their prospective donors. The Digital Media Director will work to ensure the Development Department is supplied with frequent and updated materials that can be used in fundraising goals, and that The Salvation Army continues to grow its support in the community via the web and social media. The Digital Media Director will work closely and side-by-side with his/her team to ensure any valuable social service and ministry programs are highlighted and shared with the community directly or through members of the Development Department. Methods should be researched and developed to determine the direct correlation between posted material and donation income.
