    The Salvation Army is hiring!

    The Geneva Corps is seeking a part-time Office Assistant to provide adminstrative assistant to the Corps Officers and support delivery of social services programs to the local community. This position is 25 hours per week.

    • Maintains confidentiality in all of client, staff, officers and agency information
    • Serves as point person for office assistant duties including purchasing supplies, inventory, and communicating with vendors to ensure accuracy of invoices for services.
    • Assist Corps Officers by maintaining and scheduling meetings and appointments
    • Maintains logical filling system for filing of records and correspondence as required.
    • Manages the efficient operation of the office (e.g., receiving and making calls, pick-up and delivery of mail, directing visitors, attending meetings as requested and taking minutes when applicable).
    • Assist the Corps Officers to generate and initiate all forms of correspondence as needed to include follow up.
    • Researches and prepares information, materials, and reports and rationales as requested.
    • Assist the Corps officers by networking to outreach into the community through a variety of methods to develop potential partnerships.
    • Assist Corps officer(s) with recruitment of bell-ringers; coordinate scheduling of bell ringers at kettle locations. Prepare daily intake reports of kettle locations during bell ringing season.
    • Assist Corps officers in the planning, coordination, participation, record keeping of any special project, regular or fundraising event at the corps level.


    • High School Diploma/GED w/one year relevant experience.
    • Computer proficiency required (including Microsoft Excel, Word, Publisher, and internet)
    • Ability to perform requirements of the position with a high degree of integrity and independent judgment.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to organize and schedule and prioritize multiple tasks.
    • Strong interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to effectively manage a wide array of tasks, projects, and responsibilities.
    • Ability to work productively in an unstructured environment with frequent interruptions.
    • Valid Driver’s License that meets The Salvation Army Insurance Requirements.
    • Bilingual (Must be able to read and speak in Spanish fluently)
