Location/Department: Danbury Corps (Danbury, CT)

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Full-time

Hours Per Week: 40

Schedule: November 2017 – December 2017

 

Scope & Purpose of Position:

The Kettle Season Coordinator will assist the Corps Officer with the Kettle Program.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain appropriate filing system for all kettle information.

  • Keep communication dialog with local churches, schools, and service clubs.

  • Contact local store managers to secure approval of a kettle stand at the store.

  • Complete an inventory and prepare kettle equipment.

  • Process applications for kettle bell-ringers.

  • Process applications for seasonal volunteers.

  • Process and submit weekly payroll report for kettle bell-ringers.

  • Process and submit weekly volunteer hours report.

  • Assist count team with counting of kettle money and preparation of deposits.

  • Check the payroll register with time sheets every week.

  • Track fuel levels and mileage logs for all van usage.

  • Manage work hours and locations for kettle bell-ringers.

  • Make/schedule work assignments as appropriate.

  • Maintain time cards and records.

  • Coordinate volunteers and drivers.

  • Provide direct supervision and management of all kettle bell-ringers.

  • Sort paychecks and attach to “receipt of paycheck” signature slips.

  • Assist with transportation and standing at kettles as needed.

  • Monitor and supervise kettle bell-ringers by making unannounced visits to kettle sites.

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to drive a 12 passenger cargo/transport van.

  • Strong organization and communication skills are required.

  • Great attention to detail.

  • Be able to meet deadlines.

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment while demonstrating a positive attitude.

  • Will respect and promote the interest of The Salvation Army. The individual is not required to embrace the tenets of faith, but he/she is required to promote and respect the mission of The Salvation Army.
