Position:  Seasonal Administrative Assistant/Receptionist         
Department:  Development, Greater Philadelphia, 4050 Conshohocken Ave., PA                                  
Availability of Position: November 1, 2017 – January 12, 2018
Schedule:     Full-Time; 35-40 hours per week (Weekdays, Occasional Weekends)
Reporting Relationship:     Directly: Seasonal Services Manager Indirectly: Events & Volunteer Services Manager
Salary and Grade:   $12.00 – $14.45 per hour; 73 Non-Exempt

Responsibilities

Description of Position:

 

  • The Seasonal Administrative Assistant/Receptionist will provide direct support to the Seasonal Services Manager, in addition to the Events & Volunteer Services Manager.
  • Primary responsibilities include: Assisting with the collection, sorting, and distribution of seasonal donations. Data entry, proof reading, answering calls, filing, emailing, scheduling, meeting with corporate and individual donors, meeting with clients, and also providing any other administrative tasks that fall within the range and scope of this position.
  • Resolve any client and donor concerns in an effective and courteous way.
  • Create and maintain accurate departmental records of: donor giving history, gift inventory, gift distribution and donor tax receipts/gift acknowledgements.

Qualifications

Requirements:           

  •  High School Diploma or GED Proficiency.
  • Competency in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills required.
  • Must be able to use discretion and independent judgement whilst exercising duties.
  • Self-motivated; exhibit strong initiative and time management skills as well as good organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment but also the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work well with people, i.e. staff members, corporate partners, volunteers, corporate groups, churches and schools.
  • Must be a detail-oriented, logical thinker, who is a motivated self-starter and able to work independently on assigned tasks.
  • Valid Driver's License and able to obtain insurance clearances as determined by The Salvation Army's insurance company.
  • Meet and obtain the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check.
  • Must have an understanding of, and appreciation for, the Mission of The Salvation Army.
