Overview

REPORTS TO:  Divisional Statistician/Administrative Assistant for Program (DS/AAP)

SUPERVISES:  N/A                                                  

STATUS:  Non-Exempt                                             

SCHEDULE:  Part-time, 2 or 3 days weekly (15-21 hours)   

FUNCTION:  Office Assistant for Program (OAP) will provide general office support, with a variety of clerical activities and related tasks.  These tasks will include, but will not be limited to:  data entry, filing, placing and answering phone calls, coordinating mailings, processing correspondence and special projects. The OAP will provide coverage for the reception desk as needed.           

Responsibilities

  • Work in cooperation with the DS/AAP to ensure the smooth operation of the Program Department
  • Serve as a team member to ensure events are planned and implemented efficiently
  • Supply coverage to the reception desk: greeting visitors and processing phone calls
  • Assist with coordinating and collating mailings
  • Assist with clerical duties such as photocopying, faxing, filing, scanning, etc.
  • Assist with data entry, emails/memos, reports, mailings, and other correspondence
  • Assist with special projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma and 2-3 years of relevant experience and/or training
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Lotus Notes preferred
  • Be a self-starter who exhibits ability to take initiative with little supervisory over-sight needed
  • Possess an appreciation for and willingness to embrace the Mission of The Salvation Army
