Principal FunctionsMeal preparation, organization and cleaning of the kitchen; including the equipment, food storage areas, refrigeration equipment and working with volunteers and participation with the seniors


Duties and Responsibilities



This includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • Assist with food preparation
  • Assist with serving the meals
  • Make the coffee, hot water for tea and juice
  • Set up, organize and clean coffee station daily
  • Wash dishes daily (Dishwasher)
  • Clean tables and chairs in the gym daily
  • Assist with food deliveries
  • Stock delivered food in an organized way. No food is to be permitted on the floor. Clean and maintain cleanliness of both food storage rooms.
  • Follow posted cleaning schedule
  • Prepare, cook and serve meals when the cook is absent. This may require working the hours of 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.
  • Sweep and mop the kitchen floor
  • Empty trash in kitchen and gym when the custodian is absent
  • Cover weekend feeding programs at the direction of the Cook & Corps Officers
    • Saturday
      • Coordinate with volunteers
      • Prepare kitchen & eating areas
      • Clean entryway, hallway, and bathrooms
      • Secure building and alarm
    • Sunday
      • Coordinate with volunteers
      • Prepare kitchen & eating areas
      • Prepare/serve meal as directed by Corps Officer
    • Secure building & alarm
