Position:  Family Service Coordinator (FSC)

Department:   PSSM – Reed Shelter Plus Care Program, 1320 S. 32nd Street, Philadelphia

Availability of Position:   Immediately

Schedule:  Full time; Monday through Friday, 9AM – 5PM, some evenings

Reporting Relationship:   Director of Reed House and Shelter Plus Care Programs

Salary/Grade: 10 Exempt with benefits

 

Overview:

The function of the Family Service Coordinator is to provide ongoing case management and property services for 26 families residing in the Shelter Plus Care Program.

Responsibilities

Description of Position:   

 

The function of the Family Service Coordinator (FSC) is to provide ongoing case management and property services for 26 families residing in our program. The Family Service Coordinator will assist the Director in developing and maintaining both strong programs and occupancy in order to deliver quality services that meet the needs of the residents. Must maintain all client program and property files also regularly update all client documentation.  The FSC is also responsible for rent collection and submission processes, invoicing landlord and resident payments, writing reports, maintaining logs, keeping statistics and gathering required and keeping accurate documentation for each participants chart. Must be able to multi-task, prioritize work load and meet deadlines.

Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree in social work preferred, or a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, plus three years working with homeless families.
  • Ability to work in an effective manner with a diverse population.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Must be proficient in math calculations.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and insured automobile.
  • Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check.
  • Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
