Overview

Position: Program Aide

Department:  York, PA Corps Learning Center After-School Program

Availability of Position:   2017-2018 School Year

Schedule: Part Time; 25 hours per week; After-School (August-June)

Reporting Relationship: Learning Center Director

Salary and Grade:   $8.75 per hour; 70 non-exempt

Responsibilities

Description of Position:       

 

Assist with the homework/learning program (K-6)

Accurate correction of student homework/projects (K-6)

Compiling/maintaining accurate statistical data

Communicate with schools and families


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

 

High school diploma or equivalent.  Proficient in elementary math, basic algebra, elementary grammar. One year experience working with children in a learning environment.  Good organizational and communication skills are required, as well as having basic computer skills.  Confidentiality is a must. As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of  employment with recurrent training required every three years thereafter. *   Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check. Must have an appreciation for, and understanding of, the philosophy and mission of The Salvation Army is required.
