Position: Residential Direct Support Professional
Department: Developmental Disabilities Program – Montgomery County
Availability of Position: Immediately
Schedules: Part Time positions including weekdays and weekends. Full Time positions including weekdays, weekends and overnight shifts Collegeville and Royersford, PA areas: (Sleeping is permitted during the overnight hours. Same pay rate applies.) On-call positions also available (variable, as needed schedule, less than 19 hours per week)
Reporting Relationship: Reports to the Program Coordinator for the location
Salary and Grade: $11.00/hour; 72 Non-Exempt
This position is a non-exempt position with responsibility for supports to persons with developmental disabilities residing in residential >programs in Montgomery County.
Minimum requirement of a High School Diploma/GED and a valid driver’s license. Experience should include supports to people with a range of Developmental Disabilities, including individuals with dual diagnoses and physical injuries. Familiarity with the policies and procedures of the Developmental Disabilities Program, and a working knowledge of the PA 6400 regulations that govern the operation of CLAs in Pennsylvania is preferred. Position requires a positive attitude toward the abilities of individuals with disabilities, good communication skills and the desire to engage people in activities that meet their interests and broaden their horizons. Ability to work with management, staff, families and funding sources in a respectful and courteous manner. Ability to provide support to assigned personnel and to the program which results in the positive organizational climate essential to high-quality home management and service provision. Ability to effectively communicate with staff, persons we provide services to, case managers and other service providers. Ability to anticipate problems and to initiate problem solving. Specific responsibilities vary by site and the needs of the individuals who live there. Experience in a related field and demonstrated ability to assume further responsibilities will be considered. Must have a valid driver license and good driving record. It is essential to support The Salvation Army by having an appreciation and understanding of The Salvation Army mission.
