Salary and Grade: $16.00; 75 Non-exempt
Overview: The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for food preparation and food service at the Eliza Shirley House.
Description of Position:
The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for food preparation and food service. He or she ensures all meals are presented in a desirable manner and menus are followed. The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for ensuring women, children are
treated with respect, and food service is provided in a professional manner. He or she is responsible for menus, work orders, food deliveries, ordering food supplies and preparing required paperwork. The Kitchen Supervisor ensures residents are following rules, regulations and if residents are non-compliant he or she is required to take corrective action. Ensure all kitchen safety guidelines and Eliza Shirley House policies and procedures are followed.
The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the full operations of the kitchen, ensuring the kitchen staff follow assigned work duties, follow kitchen procedures for set up and close down, follow kitchen safety guideline and kitchen policies for breaks. The Kitchen Supervisor directs staff to prioritize to meet deadlines and ensures all staff adheres to the uniform code. In the event staff do not follow polices or procedures, the Kitchen Supervisor is required to take corrective action.
High School Diploma or GED. Serve Safe certificate. One year supervisory experience. Must be an independent self-starter with the ability to work a flexible schedule. Must have excellent customer service skills, the ability to get along well with all people, the ability to exercise patience, understanding, kindness and tolerance and be able to multitask while remaining positive. Meet the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every three years thereafter. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check. Must have an understanding of, and appreciation for, the Mission of The Salvation Army. \
