Salary and Grade: $16 per hour;76 Non Exempt
Description of Position: The Shift Supervisors function is to provide direction, support staff and take affirmative action, as needed.
The Shift Supervisors function is to provide direction, support staff and take affirmative action, as needed. They are to ensure staff follows ESH policy and procedures and also clearly enforce rules and regulations with residents. They are responsible for assisting families with their needs, listening to their concerns, and re-directing residents that break rules and regulations. The supervisor provides a written account of shift activities, completes census data, incident reports, and bed checks, building checks, fire drills and processes information into the computer data system.
They are responsible for screening all potential residents entering the ESH on their shift. They must check the HMIS data system to ensure they can accept a new family and that there is nothing in the system indicating non compliance of protocol; they must then place required information into the HMIS computer data system. They are required to conduct an intake on all families entering our program and for informing them about our rules and regulations. The shift supervisor is responsible for maintaining a safe environment and is required to perform regular building checks to ensure that the building is safe, clean, and secure. The shift supervisor is responsible for monitoring staff and for taking corrective action when needed.
Associates degree with a minimum 2 years supervisory experience. Must have a working knowledge of word processing and database programs. Must possess strong organizational ability, proven ability to manage staff, ability to follow up with complaints, problem solve, be flexible, must have very strong verbal and written skills. Ability to work independently and under pressure while remaining tolerant, patient and respectful of all people we serve. Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check. Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
