Position: Aquatics Instructor
Location/Dept.: The Salvation Army Kroc Center (SAKC), Philadelphia, PA
Schedule: Part-Time; must be willing and able to work weekends and evenings as may be required in performance of duties or as requested to support the ongoing operations of the KROC Center.
Reporting Relationship: Aquatics Manager
Salary and Grade: $15.00 per hour; 75 Non-Exempt
Overview of Position:
The Kroc Aquatics Instructor provides swimming lessons for individuals of all ages and at all levels.
The Kroc Aquatics Instructor provides swimming lessons for individuals of all ages and all levels. Additionally, the instructor assures the safe utilization of all aquatic areas by KROC Center members and guests. The use of superior customer service in providing oversight of these areas is required. Must be able to be flexible in support of the KROC Center team in all areas of center operations, as needed and assigned.
High school diploma or GED, or enrolled in a program designed to result in such achievement required. WSI and current lifeguard, CPR/AED, WSI certifications required. Strong customer service and interpersonal communications skills requires, Must be able to read, write and communicate in English; proficiency in oral and written communication skills. Must have the ability to work and relate well with people. Must complete PA State Mandatory Reporter Course. As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check. Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
