Position:  21st Century Site Coordinator                                                     

Department: The Salvation Army (Tabernacle Corps Community Center, Lewis Elkins Elementary School)                        

Availability of Position:  Immediately                   

Schedule:  Part-time, 25 hours per week (Monday – Friday), work schedule will compliment the Corps/partner school site  

Reports to:  Corps Officer

Salary and Grade: $12.00 per hour; 73 Non-Exempt


Position Overview: The Site Coordinator is responsible for the overall operational management of the program and staff at the assigned 21st Century partner school.



The Site Coordinator is responsible for the overall operational management of the 21st Century program and staff at the assigned 21st Century partner school.  The Coordinator will organize tutoring, enrichment, and recreational activities, establish relationships with school principal and staff, submit expenses and timesheets for tutors, maintain site in expectation of unannounced site visits, collect data, surveys, report cards, complete reports and maintain student records.  As the program provides ESL/Academic classes for Latino students and their parents, it is required that the Site Coordinator be bilingual to adequately communicate with program participants.


  • Associate’s degree in business/related field or three years of responsible experience in managing,coordinating, and organizing programs, or those funded by social service or government agencies.
  • The candidate should possess good interpersonal communication, and strong organizational skills.
  • Candidate must have at least one year of experience working with children (i.e. Afterschool,daycare, church programs) and have willingness to work in a community setting. 
  • Bilingual candidate a plus.
  • Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks:   PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check. Candidate must also complete the mandated reporter child abuse training in accordance with PA Act 153 of 2014. 
  • Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
