Overview

To invest in the lives of teens and preteens, developing and maintaining relational ministry opportunitiesTo conduct an ongoing and aggressive evangelical ministry with youth with specific purpose of introducing them to Jesus Christ. To provide an environment and ministry opportunities in which teens and preteens can grow and mature in their faith and grow into a walk of holiness

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain practical approaches to building solid Christian living among the teens and preteens under your influence                                                                   
  • Develop and maintain programs and ministries to enhance the healthy spiritual, physical, and emotional development of those under your influence
  • Develop and maintain an intensive relational ministry with the youth congregation of the corps
  • Develop and maintain an organized, systematic, and purposeful home for teens and preteens
  • Conduct weekly teen worship times Participate in the development and implementation of an innovative Christian Education/Sunday School program.                                                       
  • Develop and maintain new or traditional ministries to facilitate the healthy Spiritual formation and discipleship of teens and young adults (e.g. Bible Studies and Corps Cadets)
  • Develop and maintain contacts with youth at local campuses where such contact is permitted                  
  • Develop and maintain an active recruitment and training program for youth leaders within assigned corps.
  • Develop and implement an evangelism training program for teens    Develop and maintain a mentoring program within assigned corps for teens and younger adults
  • Attend all youth worker "in-service" training sessions conducted by The Salvation Army Youth Department or The Eastern Territory School for Youth Leadership
  • Recruit and maintain a Christian prayer support team
  • Develop and maintain programs designed to provide information related to community resources available to young people throughout your sphere of influence                             



Qualifications

  • Must be a uniform wearing Salvationist with a commitment to evangelical outreach and discipleship
  • Have an Associate Degree or 5 years of Experience
  • Must have basic office skills including use of computer.
  • Must have at least 2 years of work experience with children and youth ministries.
  • Self-motivated, well-organized, demonstrates initiative, able to prioritize responsibility and lead others.
