Overview

Position:   Residential Direct Support Professional III

Department:  Developmental Disabilities Program; Bensalem, PA

Availability of Position: Immediately

Schedule:  Full time, hours vary

Reporting Relationship: Reports to the Program Coordinator for Bucks County

Salary and Grade:  $12.39 per hour; 73 Non-Exempt; with excellent benefits

 

 

Responsibilities

This position is a non-exempt position with the responsibility for assisting in the oversight and coordination of a wide array support for person(s) with developmental disabilities residing in a residential program in Bucks County. The work requires flexible scheduling, with a general schedule of 1 pm to 9 pm Monday to Friday, but mornings and weekends will occasionally be needed to provide appropriate oversight of individuals served, complete appointments and meetings and to insure that emergency response is available to meet health and safety needs.

Qualifications

Minimum requirement of a High School Diploma/GED and 5 years relevant experience in the field. Experience should include supports to people with a range of Developmental Disabilities, including individuals with dual diagnoses and challenging behavior. Must possess a working knowledge of licensing requirements and any specific state and county guidelines/regulations pertaining to the provision of service for adults with developmental disabilities. Requires the ability to explain the policies and procedures of the Developmental Disabilities Program to others. Ability to track information, including but not limited to: attendance, medical appointments, financial information, staff schedules, program information, petty cash, fire drills and quality surveys. Ability to work with management, staff, families and funding sources in a respectful and courteous manner. Ability to provide support to assigned personnel and to the program which results in the positive organizational climate essential to high-quality home management and service provision. Ability to effectively communicate with staff, persons we provide services to, case managers and other service providers. Ability to manage monies and costs effectively. Ability to anticipate problems and to initiate problem solving. Experience in a related field and demonstrated ability to assume further responsibilities will be considered. Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record. Applicants should have an appreciation and understanding of The Salvation Army mission.
