Overview

The compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that the after school and child care programs standards are achieved and maintained. The Compliance Specialist is responsible for the provision of high quality educational services at all direct sites. The Compliance Specialist, in conjunction with the Program Site Directors, develops and implements operational systems that support timely and accurate assessment of child and family needs, effective communication between program staff and full utilization of program services to meet specifications established by regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains program compliance with all funders
  • Trains and mentors Site Directors
  • Supervises and evaluates Site Directors through observation, meetings, and file reviews as necessary
  • Supports Site Directors in the management and evaluation of employee performance
  • Develops and monitors Policies and Procedures for program operations
  • Provides system requirements for the development and maintenance of tools to document child education planning, observation data
  • Works with the Site Directors to monitor and maintain full enrollment, identify barriers to enrollment and retention, and implements successful interventions to address program attrition
  • Develops a system to accurately document and monitor all volunteer hours for all direct sites
  • Aggregates and analyzes reports related to program operations and child assessment
  • Monitors gaps in student achievement and develops systems for ensuring high student achievement
  • Ensures that classrooms and playgrounds are well-equipped at direct sites and compiles program wide orders for early childhood equipment, materials and supplies and submits to Program Director
  • Monitors daily operation at sites, including, but not limited to educational programming, family engagement, and compliance with regulatory standards
  • Secures appropriate resources for staff, parents, and children to include supplies, equipment, and training materials
  • Reads and reviews legislation and other resources to keep abreast of current issues and trends related to the responsibilities of the job
  • Participates in continuing professional development as part of the commitment to excellence
  • Ensures strict child and family confidentiality
  • This job includes the normal physical demands associated with office work including bending, lifting, and carrying
  • Ability to pass a health examination and criminal background check
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal daily guidance
  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Successful experience working a team setting
  • Ability to present a positive image of the organization to members of the community
  • This position may include the need to attend weekend or evening meetings or trainings and might involve travel
  • Compliance Specialist serves as a collaborative liaison between the Corps Community Center’s Corps Officers, the Greater Academic Incentives to Nurture Success (GAINS) After School, Child Care Programs management and staff, Divisional Headquarters leaders. And our funding partners, to ensure a supportive, high quality practice through procedure development/monitoring and support programs. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education
  • Minimum 5 years in experience Youth Services Education
  • Minimum 2 years in management and supervision experience
  • Knowledge of Computer Skills in Microsoft Word and Excel and fiscal software
  • Knowledge and experience working with primary program funders
  • Knowledge of maintaining a program management, including program planning, operations and evaluations, as well as the use of management information systems
