Overview

The OM/SMC will be responsible for, but not limited to, interviewing clients seeking assistance and making referrals to other area agencies. Maintain client records including statistical information. It is expected that the OM/SMC will keep the front office and food pantries organized and stocked, as well as in compliance with local and TSA code standards. The OM/SMC should expect a schedule with varying hours based on scheduled events, understanding that evenings and weekends may be included.

Responsibilities

  • To promote the mission of The Salvation Army in all endeavors
  • Daily operations of Food Pantry and Soup Kitchen, including inventory of and ordering food from vendors
  • Assist in program areas including (but not limited to) Christmas seasonal assistance, summer camp recruitment and registration, community relations, and volunteer recruitment
  • Answer and direct phone calls appropriately; handle client inquiries
  • Oversight of program components, including building scheduling and security, fees, budget, property, etc.
  • Organization of client files; establish community resource booklet
  • Maintaining complete statistical reports of activities; enter into monthly reporting database
  • Arrange for pick-ups of donations

Qualifications

  • Fluency in English and Spanish strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in ministry-related field, or a minimum of 3-5 years of related experience preferred
  • Committed to the mission and ministry of The Salvation Army
  • Abide by policies, procedures and confidentiality requirements of The Salvation Army
  • Experience in office management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong time management, communication and organizational skills, including computer skills
  • Must be a detail oriented self-starter, who is capable of creative multi-tasking while adhering to deadlines
  • Possesses a valid driver’s license, with a willingness and ability to drive 12-passenger vans
