Location/Department: Manchester Corps (Manchester, CT)

Status: Non-Exempt, On-Call

Hours Per Week: Varies

Scope & Purpose of Position:

Responsible for the overall cleanliness and upkeep of the Corps when needed.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

  • Vacuum and clean all carpeted areas throughout the building

  • Sweep, mop and, as needed, strip/wax/buff all floors and all stairwells throughout the building

  • Perform general cleaning of all multi-purpose and classroom areas (e.g. tables, chairs, walls, ), including glass surfaces (doors, windows, mirrors, etc.) throughout the building

  • Clean and stock all bathrooms

  • Clean the kitchen including counter and table surfaces, sinks, refrigerator, freezers, oven and stove areas,

  • Dust as needed, including the cleaning of pews in the sanctuary

  • Dispose of all trash throughout the building, using the recycling dumpster as applicable

  • Pick up trash outside of the building weekly

  • Set-up and tear down of tables, chairs, and equipment as required for activities and meetings in various rooms

  • Assist with the relocation of supplies and equipment as needed, and maintain an inventory of building care supplies along with a list for ordering

  • Perform roof maintenance to ensure proper function and drainage

  • Monitor the lighting within and outside the building

  • Perform minor building repairs as skills permit, and monitor all required building repairs

  • Monitor the building HVAC system

  • Ensure the security of the building and property at all times

  • Maintain effective and healthy working relationships with all

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • High School Diploma

  • Minimum two years of experience in performing building maintenance

  • Must possess the knowledge to perform everyday maintenance functions

  • Evidence of dependability, good judgment, and attention to detail

  • A willingness to learn and develop new skills

  • Valid driver’s license
