The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Production Assistant to complete driving routes for pickup and/or drop off of donations at the warehouse, assigned donation boxes, and donor homes.
The Production Assistant (Truck Driver) will complete their daily route based on assigned pickups and develop their assigned route by leaving advertisements at neighboring houses at each pick up as instructed. As a representative of The Salvation Army it is expected that the Production Assistant (Truck Driver) will always treat customers courteously and maintain a neat appearance. The Production Assistant (Truck Driver) will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks, taking proper care to secure goods and materials in order to avoid damage and make optimal use of space. The Production Assistant (Truck Driver) will also be required to perform a daily walk around inspection of their vehicle to ensure safe operation, clean out truck cab daily, and maintain complete and accurate records. The position will support the work therapy program component of The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Centers by providing to beneficiaries; an example of professional conduct, work habits, and supervision (as directed by Supervisor).
The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license for assigned vehicles with an acceptable DMV record, and pass a driving test. The position requires the ability to read maps and plan and prioritize daily route coverage, and to use radio communication equipment and proper codes. The Driver will also need excellent communication and customer service skills. This position requires a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
