Responsibilities

  • Lead weekly Times Square Corps prayer meetingsTeach regular Bible classes for The Glory Shop students
  • Assist Corps Officer in planning and leading Times Square Corps women’s ministry worship services
  • Plan and organize Times Square Corps events for community outreach and evangelism
  • Network and create partnerships with other businesses and organizations in the city within the frame work of the development department and with the oversight and approval of the GS and not to interfere with divisional fundraising initiatives
  • Coordinate and recruit volunteers as needed within the frame work of the divisional volunteer office with the oversight and approval of the Personnel Secretary in GNY
  • Be actively engaged in the spiritual and holistic development of The Glory Shop students, and others who are reached through the corps’ ministry
  • Participate in worship at The Times Square Corps Sunday morning Holiness Meeting
  • Monthly meetings with individual Glory Shop Students for the purpose of ongoing support and counseling as they transition into careers and adulthood
  • Maintain Times Square Corps and Glory Shop social media platforms
  • Build and deepen donor relationships for the Times Square Corps within the frame work of the development department and with the oversight and approval of the GS and not to interfere with divisional fund raising initiatives
  • Assist in securing donations for all ministry positions in the Times Square Corps within the frame work of the development department with the oversight and approval of the GS and not to interfere with divisional fund raising initiatives
  • Keep up-to-date records and statistics as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Corps Officers

Qualifications

  • B.S./B.A. degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university
  • 3 years of experience in Salvation Army ministry
  • Commitment to the mission and Christian beliefs of The Salvation Army
  • Experience in starting new initiatives and programs
  • Leadership and strong interpersonal and counseling skills
  • Ability to speak and teach in public settings
  • Ability to maintain the highest standard of professionalism and confidentiality during employment
  • International and/or multicultural experience a plus
